Once more from the Cocktail Chronicles:

Like I said, it appears Paul Clarke’s bar is quite similar to ours – the recipes in his book conveniently tend to use ingredients we already have. So here we are, back for a third time featuring a cocktail from the book!

MESCAL TRAINING WHEELS

This one is from Misty Kalkofen of Boston. It’s a little smoky, a tad bitter and has a nice floral component.

As someone who’s not a huge fan of “smoke”, I felt like this cocktail is a great introduction to mescal. There’s definitely a hint of smoke, but it doesn’t feel like you’re drinking a campfire.

This deliciously balanced drink is a tad smoky, a little bitter, and a great overall introduction to mescal.
