If your holiday season is anything like mine, it starts to get crazy in mid-October and doesn’t stop until January. Inevitably, I’ll be asked by friends, family (or regulars!) to design or bring a cocktail for their event. Here’s this year’s “Pomegranate Standby” cocktail, which I’ll typically use for all cocktail requests this season.

This is my "standby" cocktail when folks ask for a tasty holiday drink.

The Pomegranate Standby
Instructions
Prepare the Pomegranate Juice
  1. Reduce Pomegranate juice by heating it on the stovetop to a light boil until it has reduced by half. Cool completely before using.
Ginger and Rosemary Simple Syrup
  1. Add sugar and water to a saucepan and heat to just slightly boiling.
  2. Simmer on a light boil for about 15 minutes.
  3. Fine-strain and let cool completely.
The Cocktail:
  1. Place the simple syrup, Pomegranate juice, lime juice and Nolet’s gin in a shaker. Add ice and shake.
  2. Fine strain into a Collins glass & glass and top off with Brachetto d’Acqui.
  3. Garnish with Pomegranate seeds and a sprig of Rosemary
